One of the hardest thing for anyone starting in 7mm ("O" scale) is where do I purchase models & modelling material. This page will attempt to keep a list of 7mm parts suppliers, both local & international, so that you can obtain the products that you require.

This company supplies ready to run diesel bogies for the 7mm market in the UK. The bogies are beautifully made but a bit pricey. The owner told me that he could make any wheel/axle/spacing/size combination desired by the customer. Side frames and motor are up to the customer to supply but for 130 pounds you could have a single motorised bogie that would be an exact 7mm scale representation of your favourite diesel.

This company makes an extensive range of point components for your track-work needs at quite a reasonable price. There are other UK companies that make point kits however the prices rise with the quality and the application of some of these manufacturers' products can be limited as most use bullhead rail with chairs and this was not widely used in Australia, that I'm aware of. A pointwork kit from Marcway (you will have to build this yourself) with cast frog assembly is about 14 pounds without postage. This is about a third the price of a Peco r-t-r point and you can adapt one of the kits to look much more Australian with a little work.

Port Wynnstay specialises in narrow gauge rolling stock however they also sell a great range of door and window castings which are a nice complement to the Grandt Line range from the US, and of course they're all 7mm scale, not quarter inch scale like the US gear. Worth a look.
I hope you enjoy your stay and come back often , and if you model in another scale, remember
"You'll never never know if you don't come over to "O"
