Welcome: my name is Keiran Ryan, and the following is a little about myself, my hobby & what ever else is worth telling you. I am 49 years young, married with two children, a girl and a boy. We live in a house I designed and built myself, in the small village like town of Picton on the edge of the picturesque Southern Highlands in New South Wales, Australia. I am a qualified Automotive Engineer and have been working in the automotive industry for 33 years. For the past 22 years, I have worked for a well known motoring organisation as a Road Service Patrol Officer.

I have been an active (opinions may differ) modeller for the past 25 or so years with my main interest in modelling NSW Railways - between 1980 - 1990, with most of the last few years, being taken up with concentrating on the NSW Grain industry, particularly a small Central Western NSW town of Peak Hill which I am in the process of depicting in an Exhibition Layout. In the past, I have written a number of articles for model railway magazines, and I hope to be able to do more in the future.

One article of note appeared in Australian Model Railway Magazine from issue 163 to 164, titled "Storing The Golden Grain". This was a lead article, which was followed by "Modelling An S008 Silo", using the silo at West Tamworth in NSW, as a basis for the model. These articles appeared in issue 165 to issue 167 In AMRM. A later article was also written on the S016 & the S024 Silos and can be found in issue 170 of AMRM.

On a smaller scale an article on scratchbuilding HO scale windows for station buildings can be found in Australian Journal of Railway Modelling formerly Branchline Modeller, on pages 44 & 45 of issue No 5. My article on Peak Hill, is being written as the model is progressing, and will delve into much more detail than time & space will permit on this site.

Other activities include, computers, furniture building, landscaping, & gardening. At present I am involved with a model project on Penrith Station, as well as a full kit of Merriwa (NSW) S052 silo. A Photo Set can be found on the Gallery Section of this Web Site

Well then that's enough about me; after all, I don't want to bore you any more than is necessary, so have fun with my web site, and if anything of interest "Tickles Your Fancy" and you would like more information on that topic, then please let me know, with a quick e-mail, which I will reply to, as soon as possible. Thanks for your time & patience, and enjoy the site.
