Introduction
This page is dedicated to information that will assist the modeller in uses for the KRM CUL 201

The 7 piped sandbagged culvert is based on the culvert found at the Parkes end of Peak Hill yard (NSW}. The culvert is set in a flood plain, with seven 2ft corrugated pipes secured by standard sand bags filled with a sand/cement mix, which when mixed with water, sets like concrete.

The kit contains two polyurethane castings which can be used on any number of railway lines, ranging from a single track to 4 tracks wide, or even on a roadway.

  1. The culvert needs to be set into the scenery, with 0.040" styrene on the on top and between the two culvert sides
  2. The culvert needs to be painted and weathered prior to locating in place.
  3. The scenery material needs to be worked up to the edge of the culvert, and earth materials scattered around the ends of the pipes.
  4. Think laterially when locating reeds, weeds, and earth material around the culvert pipes. Think where the water would go so that run-off can be indicated, as well as sediment from the flood plain.
