The following is a description of what will be a depiction of a prototype railway yard in model form. The model of Peak Hill will be a (WYSIWYG) What You See Is What You Get layout, as it was in the 1980's.

The layout being built is a reproduction (not a representation) of the Peak Hill yard as it was in the 80's. It will consist of 9 front modules each measuring 1800 mm long x 600 mm deep. The two end modules, will allow for the track to return to the rear of the layout into a sizeable 5 track fiddle yard. The layout is being built as an Exhibition Layout, and the modules will be totally encapsulated with curved backdrop, and their own lighting, enabling a diorama effect. This type of project, allows a modeller to cover literally every aspect of model railway building, from base board construction, to electric's, electronics to scenery to scratchbuilding, lighting and even trailer construction.
