Unlike most of the previous silos, these silos started their lives in the 1920's as 50,000 bushel bins. The workhouses were added to the bins in the late 1930's. Nine of these silos were built between 1920 - 1922, whilst the workhouses were added between 1937 - 1939. Their storage capacity varies, depending on the number of bins each silo has. The workhouse is similar in appearence to the S027 silo, except for the fact that the four main bins are only 18' in diameter, internally. The larger bins are 38' in diameter, internally, and both the workhouse and the bins are 70' high. ----NOTE ---- Wellington only has six bins with an external elevator, it was never provided with a workhouse.
